Feeling disconnected?

It can happen to all of us. Sometimes without warning. Life gets busy. And before you know it, you are moving through life, one “to do list” at a time. Overwhelmed. Feeling disconnected from the life you are living and unsure how to even begin to reconnect with yourself.

The good news is that reconnecting with yourself may not be as hard as you think. And you can start today. Even if you have a busy schedule. Even if it seems like you never have a moment alone.

The most important part? Show up. That’s right. Start by just showing up for yourself. Take a couple of minutes each day to check in with yourself. To reflect on how you are doing…how you are feeling. And listen to the answer. Allow yourself to feel however you are feeling. No judgement. Just checking in.

Once you get in this habit, consider other ways that you can set aside a few minutes for yourself. Some suggestions may be:

  • Spend a few minutes outside

  • Go for a walk

  • Consider creating a space to unwind, filled with items that bring you comfort

  • Listen to a guided meditation

  • Journal

Above all else, be patient with yourself. It may take some time, but showing up for yourself consistently, taking time to check in with yourself, can make such a difference.
